MISSION
To create community through service and the arts, reflecting the cultural diversity of,
and affection for, South Natomas, benefiting all who live and work here,
and to provide the promise of a better life for future generations.
Please help fully develop our vision by becoming a board member. Founded August 7, 2019, SNIA spent the first year obtaining IRS nonprofit status and in the development of our website. The second year was the pandemic which put everyone's world on pause. At this time, SNIA has eight board members and continues continues to seek new board members to reflect the diversity of our community. SNIA will convene its first meeting on March 25, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.
SNIA will act as an advocate for the South Natomas community as a whole. We will partner with schools and other organizations that represent neighborhoods within South Natomas.
The board will reflect the diversity in age, gender, ethnicity, experience and socio-economic status that exists in our community; youth membership is highly desirable. Applications from people from all backgrounds and ages are encouraged. Potential board members will need to commit significant time and energy. Service may include meetings and other activities. Interest in the arts (broadly understood), historical preservation and public safety is desirable. Other specific skills, including organizational development, grant writing, fundraising, construction, public relations or law are desirable but not required. A willingness to get one's feet wet and learn can be just as important. Board members should expect to serve for at least two years. Youth board members should expect to serve for one year. If interested in serving please contact President & Founder, Sharon Jennings.
